Mbadi Reacts To Cracks In ODM As Mps Seek To Oust Wandayi; Mombasa Woman Quits Dubai Job to Join Pastor Ezeklel Odero’s Church & Political Analyst Explains Why Suluhu Should Not Lead Mediation Talks

Several government and private sector services in Kenya were targeted by cyber-attacks on Thursday, leading to disruptions in crucial services.

The affected entities include the e-Citizen platform, Kenya Power and Lighting Company, Kenya Railways, Safaricom, Absa Bank, Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB), and Standard Chartered Bank.

The hacktivist group called Anonymous Sudan, which supports Russia, has claimed responsibility for the attacks and warned of further disruptions.

Amidst the cyber-attacks, President William Ruto has taken a tough stance against protests targeting his government. He has vowed to crush any demonstrations, stating that he is open to negotiation on other issues but not national security.

He mentioned that the protests would meet the same fate as the halted Building Bridges Initiative (BBI), which he took credit for stopping. The clashes between protesters and police have resulted in injuries to over 300 police officers across the country.

In a surprising turn, despite Raila Odinga’s skepticism about Ruto’s call for dialogue, three African leaders—South African president Cyril Ramaphosa, Tanzanian counterpart Samia Suluhu, and former Nigerian head of state Olusegun Obasanjo—have been proposed to mediate talks between President William Ruto and Raila Odinga’s party, Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition.
