Omtatah Now Moves To The Supreme Court To Appeal Ruling On Finance Act; Moses Kuria Quickly Changes His Tune, Refers To Raila As His Boss Over Dialogue Talks & Gachagua – My Condition to Azimio to have their Security Reinstated

Good morning,
Azimio leader Raila Odinga and President William Ruto, the two main political rivals in Kenya, have agreed to hold talks to resolve the political crisis that has rocked the country recently.

According to Azimio camp, the talks will be headed by former Nigerian president Olusegun Obasanjo.

The two leaders have been at loggerheads since the 2022 general election, with Raila Odinga accusing Ruto of rigging the election. Ruto has denied the allegations, and the two sides have been unable to agree on a way forward until Saturday, July 29th.

The talks that the two camps have promised to hold comprising five members from each side are still in the early stages, and it is not yet clear what they will achieve.

However, the Azimio coalition has affirmed that street protests are here to stay even as they said they remain committed to holding fresh talks with their Kenya Kwanza counterparts.

In a statement on Sunday, Azimio said they will continue engaging with the people even as they continue to pursue dialogue.

The Azimio camp did not, however, indicate when they plan to hold demos next after calling off last week so as to pay tributes to those killed during the countrywide protests.

Do you think Kenya Kwanza, Azimio talks will materialize?
