Bandari Back To winning Ways After Seeing Off KCB

Coastal based side Bandari United ended their run of five league matches without a win by beating high flying KCB 2-1 at the Mbaraki Stadium in Mombasa.

The dockers had not won a single match since sacking former manager Bernard Mwalala. They started the match on the attack and almost went ahead in the fifth minute but Shabaan Kengas shot was inches wide.

The first half ended in a stalemate.

Bandari would however not be denied minutes after the restart when Cliff Kasuti was fouled inside the area and the referee pointed to the spot. William Wadri stepped up and made no mistake sending the goalkeeper the wrong way.

It was two twenty minutes later when substitute Yema Mwana dribbled past the Bankers goalkeeper and coly slotted the ball into an empty net for the second and match-winner.

KCB did pull one back late on but it was too little too late and they have now lost two consecutive matches for the first time this season. Interestingly, KCB had been on a ten-match unbeaten run prior to the two losses.

The win leaves Bandari 11th on the table with 23 points while KCB remains 4th with 38 points. Next up for KCB is a league tie with Mathare united while KCB host Posta Rangers.
