A video has emerged showing a critically injured Jubilee Secretary General Raphael Tuju lying on a stretcher as he is admitted to a city hospital.
Tuju was airlifted from Kijabe Mission hospital from where an operation was conducted on him.
According to police reports, CS Tuju’s car was hit head-on by a matatu driver who had swerved from the road to Nairobi and entered the Opposite lane to Naivasha.
Eye-witness accounts narrate that the matatu had swerved ostensibly to avoid hitting a Toyota Allion car which was ahead of it.
CS Tuju’s Toyota Prado car would ram head-on into the matatu rendering its driver unconscious.
In the aftermath, Tuju’s driver broke his right leg while his bodyguard suffered a fractured hand.
Tuju was on his way to the burial of former President Daniel Moi in Kabarak when he got involved in the freak accident.
He was travelling together with a section of his family at the time of the morning accident.
The matatu driver identified as Bernard Muya is currently recuperating on life-support at the Kijabe Mission Hospital.
The other 12 passengers in the matatu were admitted and discharged from the facility in stable condition.
