Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigation(DCI) have reportedly landed at Maasai Mara University to investigate the massive corruption after a Citizen TV expose.

Wahiga Mwaura, the journalist who unmasked the wanton theft of public funds at the institution in an explosive report titled ‘Mara Heist’ reported on Twitter that detectives are collecting evidence.

Spencer Sankale Ololchike, an accountant at the university, revealed how Vice Chancellor Mary Walingo has stolen millions of money from the university coffers.

Spencer revealed how he had directly handled the finances and how looting of public funds had turned one of Kenya’s youngest public universities into ‘a cartel of thieves’.

Spencer collaborated with four of his colleagues to expose the rot in the institution.

However, Walingo has already responded to the accusations stating that anyone implicated in the heist should be ready to face the full force of the law.
