Watford is bottom of the log but got their first point of the season following a 1-1 draw with Newcastle United. Below, we look at 4 main talking points from Matchday 4 in the English Premier League.

Salah a danger to Liverpool’s team spirit

One of the main characteristics of any team managed by Jurgen Klopp is the strong team spirit the German instills in his players. That’s why it was rather sad to see Sadio Mane clearly angry at Mohamed Salah during Liverpool’s win over Burley on Saturday.

In the past few weeks, Salah has been very selfish with the ball and failed to pass to Mane even when the Senegalese forward was better positioned to score on numerous occasions. Squad harmony is very vital at Liverpool and should Salah continue, it could be in real danger of changing for the worst.

Matteo Guendouzi becoming a star at the Emirates

Arsenal’s 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur in the North London was easily the best game of the season so far. After going down 2-0 early in the first half, the Gunners fought back to secure a point.

However, Arsenal could not have done that without the talents of young Frenchman Matteo Guendouzi. The 20-year-old was simply everywhere tackling, passing and covering the full-backs. He caped off his wonderful performance with a delicious ball to Pierre Aubameyang to level the scores.

The kid is currently the present and future of Arsenal’s midfield.

Lampard needs to sort out his backline

Chelsea has played five matches this season including the European Super Cup and they have not kept a single clean sheet. The Blues look very good going forward but their defensive game is basically non-existent.

Against Sheffield United over the weekend, the Blues conceded a 90-minute equalizer at home. Frank Lampard will need to curb some of his attacking instincts to aid the defense or risk getting the sack before December.

Brendan Rodgers proves his worth at Leicester

It’s easy to forget that Brendan Rodgers was one win away from winning the League with Liverpool in 2014. The Northern Irish manager left Celtic to join Leicester City last season and in the short duration that he has been at the King Power Stadium, he has transformed the side.

The Foxes are unbeaten in their first 4 matches, playing beautiful attacking football and third on the table behind Liverpool and Manchester City. It may still be early but the initial signs are that the team will make a hard push to finish in the top 6 this season.
