The 2007/2008 post elections violence implicated six Kenyans at the International Criminal Court. As much as the Ocampo Six caught mostly politicians involved in the 2007 elections, a radio presenter was also implicated.
Joshua Sang, the then KASS FM head of Radio was at hard times to have his case acquitted.
Thank God he was acquitted alongside President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy Dr William Ruto .
After surviving the case, Sang unsuccessfully vied for a senatorial seat in Trans Nzoia in the past 2017 general elections.
After losing the polls, he has been absent in the public limelight, only to be showing up in a few DP Ruto-led events in the Rift Valley.
However, he has managed to get his loved job back! Sang has been appointed as head of Radio at Mediamax and will henceforth be the boss of DP Ruto-owned Emo Fm radio which enjoys a huge following in Rift Valley.
He will take over the morning show as the lead presenter and will also be the overall deputy program controller.
Mr Sang is one of Kenya’s most successful radio presenters in the league of Maina Kageni, Cess Mutungi and Vincent Ateya. He was head of Radio at KASS FM before he was dramatically accused of fueling ethnic tension in 2007.
Millions of EMO FM that has a huge following in Rift Valley are excited to have Sang roar in the airwaves. With Sang behind the Mic on morning show, Kass FM is facing a threat since Joshua has a critical mass behind him.
