The Orange Democratic Party (ODM) has declared war against Deputy President William Ruto over corruption claims.
This follows Siaya Senator James Orengo’s censure motion against DP William Ruto on matters impeachment.
Secretary general Edwin Sifuna said the party supports the impeachment motion to end the looting of public resources.
Sifuna accused DP Ruto of presiding over the worst plunder of public resources, saying the party will use any option to push the DP out of government.
Sifuna spoke on Sunday accompanied by MPs George Aladwa (Makadara), Teddy Mwambire (Ganze), Simba Arati (Dagoretti North) and Timothy Wanyonyi (Westlands).
“People have asked me ODM’s position regarding Orengo’s motion. As ODM, every option that can help separate Ruto from public resources will apply. We will use all means to achieve this including impeachment,” Sifuna said.
The leaders spoke at Kwa Reuben grounds in Nairobi during a rally to campaign for the party’s candidate in the Friday’s Embakasi South by-election.
James Orengo had earlier raised his concern on war on graft an that DP Ruto was center of all mega scandals.
DP Ruto said that the impeachment motion was championed by selfish individuals.
