Dead Beat Nelson Marwa ? PS in a Fix after ‘Baby Mama’ Demands Child Support

Labour and Social Protection PS Nelson Marwa has disowned his baby mama who is suing him for child support.

A 27-year-old woman filed a case in a Kitale court to compel the senior government official to pay for the minor’s upkeep.

In the court documents, the woman, whose name has been withheld, alleged that PS Marwa neglected his duties after siring her one-year-old daughter.

She, however, noted that the PS only settled a Ksh50,000 hospital bill after which he absconded his duties.

On his part, Marwa held that he had no knowledge of the woman or the child refuting claims that he had ever supported her financially.

“At no time have I supported the plaintiff or the alleged child,” he maintained.

Both parties will have to present themselves for DNA testing and the case will be heard on April 23.

This comes even after a ruling by a Kakamega High Court Judge tightened the nuts on dead beat fathers by revoking the clause that gave them leeway to either accept or reject responsibility for a child born out of wedlock.

Justice Jesse Njagi stated that a man cannot escape parental responsibility because of unemployment adding that in the event the partner dies, he must take full responsibility.

“Parental responsibility is automatic and self-activating on parents upon the birth of a child and fathers cannot have the discretion of either rejecting or accepting that responsibility.

“The automation of parental responsibility upon the birth of a child and the responsibility is not left to the discretion of either the father or mother,” Justice Njagi stated.
