Kenyans Going Nuts About Banned Peanut Butter

Exactly one day after Nuteez Peanut Butter was banned by standards authorities, a section of Kenyans has vowed to continue consuming the product.

The butter was outlawed by the Ministry of Health after it failed to pass the minimum aflatoxin level test.

The Ministry further ordered the product to be removed from store shelves as its consumption is deemed risky.

However, despite the warnings by the Ministry, Kenyans have vowed to stand with the product.

The Kenyans are citing the product’s good taste, availability in supermarket shelves and its affordability as the reasons why they might not stop consuming the butter.

A top City lawyer Wahome Thuku vowed to purchase it again saying his family has a history with it.

“The peanut butter I have seen in my house for a good time… if I find it, I will pick it” Read his facebook post in parts.

One ‘El Mariachi’ Suspected the ban owed to a business rivalry and he also vowed to continue consuming product.

Rosemary Kiraka said that she has to finish a one kilogram can that she bought before she could consider leaving it.

High aflatoxin levels in food are toxic, but the Kenyan boasted of healthy life even after consuming the product since it has been in existence.

In a press statement, Jetlak Foods Limited, the parent company to Nuteez butter denied having received a notice by the Ministry about the ban.
