Hector Bellerin played a key part in Denis Suarez’s loan move from Barcelona to Arsenal, the midfielder has revealed.
Arsenal confirmed the capture of the midfielder on Thursday on loan where he will stay with the Gunners until the end of the season with an option of making the deal permanent.
Barcelona forced the midfielder to sign a contract extension before he left for the north London side to protect his market value.
The Spaniard, who trained with the Gunners’ squad on Thursday revealed that he had a talk with Bellerin before deciding to link up with him at his former boss Unai Emery.
“I’ve spoken to Hector. He wrote me a message when the rumours started to come out in the press about me joining Arsenal,” said Suarez on the Arsenal website.
“I hope he can recover as soon as possible. It’s a shame that he’s injured because I’d love to play with him, but I’m sure he’ll be back soon.”
The 25-year-old was handed jersey number 22.
