In 2016 rumours went round that the then Cord co principal Moses Wetangula had filed a case in court for what he claimed to have suffered physical harm during the ordeal at the couple’s house in an upmarket estate in Nairobi.
However the said Senator did not clarify or deny the issue and for the first time ever he has opened up on the claims that he was beaten by his wife.
While speaking at the the Wicked Edition’s on NTV with Dr. King’ori, the politician said that as an African man he understands that family is holy and sacred.
In addition he said that he had never talked about what happened and he was still not going to talk about it.
“I have never talked about it, I’m not about to talk about it. As an African man family is sacred and family is sacrosanct and family is family,” said the ford Kenya leader
According to the senator’s report then , his wife accused him of infidelity before she became furious and attacked him as a result, he said he sustained injuries on his head, left hand, left leg. He was treated at Karen hospital and issued with a P3 form.
It was also reported that Wetangula’s wife Ann had separately filed an assault case at the same police station against him.
Mrs Wetang’ula was the first to report to the police on February 21 that her husband beat her on the night of February 18 at around 9 pm.
“Ann Wetang’ula, a resident of Karen came to the station and reported that February 18, 2016 at around 9pm she was assaulted by her husband Hon. Moses Wetangula, Senator for Bungoma County. She complained of having sustained injuries on both hands, chest and legs,” the report stated
