Man Utd Planning £50m January Spree – But They Won’t Get THIS Star

Man Utd will not sign Kalidou Koulibaly in January, says Steve Nicol .

That’s the verdict of ESPN pundit Steve Nicol, who thinks the Red Devils will have to cough up more than £50m to sign the Napoli centre-back.

Koulibaly is in high demand after developing into one of the most talented defenders in European football.

United are reportedly frontrunners to prise him away from the Stadio San Paolo, with some rumours suggesting they have already seen a bid rejected.

Starsport understands new United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will have up to £50m to spend on transfers in January, but Nicol cannot see them signing the Senegal international.

“I don’t think there’s any possibility of this happening in the next window at all” Steve Nicol

“I don’t think there’s any possibility of this happening in the next window at all,” he told ESPN FC.

“Man United are talking about maybe spending 50 million, that would get the right boot of this guy.

“It’s not gonna happen, that is absolutely a miss.

When asked if it could happen in the future, Nicol replied: “Possibly.”

United are in desperate need of a new centre-back after conceding 30 goals in a disastrous first 18 games of the season.
