Man Utd Fans Spot The Moment Vs Huddersfield Where Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Gave Them Their Identity Back

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made it two wins from two as Manchester United caretaker manager after taking over exactly a week ago.

A Nemanja Matic goal and a double from Paul Pogba gave United a 3-1 victory over Huddersfield in Solskjaer’s first match in charge at Old Trafford, and there were plenty of reasons to be cheerful at full time.

One of those was the 80th minute introduction of youngster Angel Gomes, who replaced Juan Mata.

Gomes was making his second Premier League appearance for United 18 months after his first against Crystal Palace in May 2017. He was also a late substitute at Yeovil last season in the FA Cup.

Solskjaer promised to feature more youth team players when he took over at United, and has already lived up to that promise in his two games in the United dugout. Gomes and fellow youngster James Garner travelled with the squad to Cardiff but didn’t make the match-day squad.

So when midfielder Gomes came on against Huddersfield, United fans were pleased to see one of the next generation of players make the step up to the first team – something the club have a proud history of achieving.
