Confirmed: Official dates and venue for Gor and Sharks’ continental assignments

The CAF Champions League and CAF Confederations Cup preliminary matches involving Kenyan representatives Gor Mahia and Kariobangi Sharks will kick off next week.

Gor will host Malawian side Nyasa Big Bullets on Wednesday, November 28, 2018, at the MISC Kasarani starting 4 pm.Sharks meanwhile, will play host to Djibouti side Arta Solar7 a day earlier on Tuesday, at the same venue, starting 4 pm.

The second legs will be played between December 5, and December 6, 2018, with the winner on aggregate gaining qualification to the first round. Gor could face either of Nigeria’s Lobi Stars or Cameroon’s UMS de Loum if they make it to the first round. Sharks meanwhile, could be up against Ghana’s Asante Kotoko or a representative from Cameroon.

Gor Mahia will be looking to go a step further in this season’s competition following their group stage exit last season. K’Ogallo lost their manager Dylan Kerr only last week and are currently being prepared for this fixture by stand in manager Zico Otieno.

Sharks on the other hand will be playing their first continental fixture in their history but will be bouyed by the fact that they will be playing at home and have a very talented squad in their ranks. Meanwhile, The Super Cup clash pitting Kenyan Premier League champions Gor Mahia and Shield Cup winner Kariobangi Sharks have moved from Nairobi to Machakos.

The season curtain raiser was initially set for the Kasarani Stadium but the unavailability of Kenya’s biggest stadium has forced Kenyan Premier League Limited to seek for an alternative venue, Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.
