The red devils are ready to sign Real Madrid midfielder Mateo Kovacic this summer. This comes as the club looks to replace Michael Carrick following his retirement and uncertain future of Marouane Fellaini.
The deal expected to be sealed is of £52m for Fred in the coming days.
Red Devils manager Jose Mourinho is keen to boost his midfield options further, and claims have it that he has identified Kovacic as a possible transfer target.
Kovacic recently hinted that he would be willing to leave the Bernabeu in search of more regular first-team football, although Madrid are unlikely to make any major transfer decisions before they appoint a new manager.
The 24-year-old Croatia international made 36 appearances for Madrid across all competitions last season, but started only 10 La Liga games.
