Samuel Umtiti has indicated that he is set to sign a new deal with which will see him remain in La Liga Champions in the Summer.
The France defender and Barcelona centre-back has enjoyed a standout season for the Catalan club, who claimed the La Liga title at a canter and also secured another Copa del Rey crown during Ernesto Valverde’s first season in charge.
It has been speculatedf that other European clubs are looking to negotiate contract with the 24-year-old
According to Umtiti,”There is nothing new, I look at my phone, but nothing has advanced. It won’t annoy me if it’s not sorted before the World Cup because negotiations have already been going on for several months.
He further added, “It’s important, though, to try to solve this case before the start of the World Cup. From my point of view, it will be done.”
Umtiti has made 50 appearances for Barcelona since joining from Lyon in 2016.
