Jubilee wrangles have hit an all-time high after Senate Majority leader Kipchumba Murkomen sent a veiled attack to President Kenyatta against abandoning Deputy President William Ruto in 2022.
Speaking at the burial of the mother of Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua, Murkomen stated that ‘they’ had made a huge investment in Jubilee and President Kenyatta and that they will not leave the party.
The Elgeyo-Marakwet senator told off those who were making alliances with President Kenyatta to scuttle 2022 plans to prepare for a rude shock.
“We are not about to separate ourselves with (sic) Jubilee and Uhuru Kenyatta, that is our investment,” stated Murkomen.
Murkomen added that they had put their investment on President Kenyatta for more than 10 years and that nobody can interfere with that arrangement.
“The investment tumeweka kwa Rais Uhuru Kenyatta na Jubilee ni kubwa sana…Nataka niwaambie wale wa mpango wa kando ambao wanafikiria watavuna mahali hawajapanda kwamba we are not about to separate ourselves from Jubilee and Uhuru…Akipiga kona tunapiga na yeye..”

On his part, DP Ruto stated that President Kenyatta was a ‘gentleman’ and would not be interested in another term.
This was in response to growing concerns that President Kenyatta was using the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) to come back as a powerful Prime Minister.
While President Kenyatta has maintained that his choice for the 2022 Presidential candidate would surprise many, the TangaTanga brigade of Jubilee has maintained the pact between DP Ruto and Kenyatta must be respected.
