Gachagua’s Directive to Ichungwah Over Azimio Talks; “Uhuru Will Join Ruto Soon” ODM Insider Alleges & Gachagua on the Spot Over Police Transfers in Mt Kenya

Good morning,

On Sunday, President William Ruto announced non-negotiable conditions for resuming talks with opposition leader Raila Odinga amid uncertainties about the outcomes of the high-stake negotiations.

Speaking in Nyeri, the Head of State expressed concerns about Raila’s intentions even as he expressed relief at the ODM leader’s declaration that he does not seek a share of the government.

However, Ruto said that he needed assurance that the outcome of the talks would not lead to a scenario where he would be compelled to share power with Raila

The Head of State also expressed discomfort with the constant threats from the opposition to call for protests and insisted that talks will only resume if Raila unconditionally stops calling for nationwide demos.

On the other hand, the former Premier has refused to back down from staging protests after he threatened last week that should Ruto not demonstrate seriousness in the talks, he will call for demonstrations in 30 days.

Do you foresee these talks stalling further based on the hard stances of the two camps?
