Arsenal defender David Luiz has spoken of his admiration for Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola.
The Brazilian who is currently under former Pep understudy, Mikel Arteta is happy to be working with the former Arsenal skipper who he believes is as good as the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich coach.
He has remained a key player for the Gunners after Arteta’s arrival even after many predicted that he would be shelved by the Spanish coach.
Luiz has had a dream of working with Pep but with his career at the sunset, the two are unlikely to work together as he is currently at the sunset of his career but is contented with working with Arteta.
“I couldn’t work with him, but I’m having the opportunity to work with a person who grew up and learned and was victorious with him, who has the same ideas. So, in a way, I’m making a dream come true,” he said.
Luiz joined Arsenal at the start of the year from Chelsea and has been one of Arsenal’s key players this campaign. Arteta, however, is keen on bringing in new defenders in the summer and the former Benfica, Chelsea and PSG man could find himself down the pecking order.
