Manchester United has confirmed the capture of Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes. The Portuguese International will sign a long term deal with the club after his medical and an agreement on personal terms.
Fernanes has been a long term target for the Red Devils with the club scouting him for the better part of the last three years. He becomes the first signing of the January Transfer window for Manchester United.
Fernandes is an attacking midfielder who has 8 goals and 7 assists for Sporting Lisbon this season. He was also their captain. He will much needed creativity in a Manchester United team that struggles to create chances from midfield without Paul Pogba who is still out with an ankle injury.
The 26-year-old is an excellent dribbler and has improved his end product and maturity this season which has led Manchester United to finally put in a serious bid for him.

The club has already lost Ashley Young who joined Antonio Conte at Inter Milan while PaulPogba and Scott Mctominay are out with niggling injuries.
