It is no secret that being on TV has the consequence of getting the attention of everyone including politicians.
During a recent interview with Radio Maisha, popular TV girl Janet Mbugua revealed that she has had politicians asking to be with her even after she got married and had children of her own.
“How many politicians, how many colleagues in the media have approached me? So many. Did I say yes? No. Even when I am married and gotten kids. I just used to say point-blank that, ‘I have a family. Don’t you think what you are asking is wrong?’. It’s a choice. I just said that even if they can give me all the money in the world what will happen to me? There is no credibility I’ll have,” she said.
Despite her refusing their offers, some TV girls are known to have fallen for Politicians’ charms.

Betty Kyallo and Hassan Joho
The love affair between Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho and TV anchor Betty Kyallo was trending around the country for a long time.
He gifted her with a BMW X6 and a Porsche Cayenne, besides a monthly upkeep stipend that would make any girl’s eye water. He retracted the car after their break up and put it on the road for campaigns.
In an August 2017 interview with True Love magazine, Betty opened up about her relationship with Joho and recalled that the governor “was going through the same thing, a separation, and we connected on that level. We tried to have something and it gave me comfort because we understood where we were with each other. He was easy to talk to, hang out and have fun with. But after a few months, I decided that this was not what I wanted for myself.”
Anne Kiguta and Jomo Gecaga
Celebrated TV personality Anne Kiguta had a relationship with Uhuru’s nephew Jomo Gecaga. The two are blessed with twins.
Doreen Majala and Gideon Mulyungi
TV Presenter Doreen Gatweri was married to Mwingi Central MP Gideon Mulyungi. Their love ended badly after her husband assaulted her.
“My husband hit me on the face with his phone and continued punching me until I screamed for help,” Doreen narrated.
She filed for a separation in 2017.
“In June 2017, it got so bad that I filed a case for separation and moved to my parents’ place. He agreed to the separation, but warned me that I will get nothing as alimony,” reported Gatwiri.
