Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka on Sunday vowed that he would not support ODM Party Leader Raila Odinga in the upcoming 2022 elections should the latter vie.

                                                Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka

Kalonzo who served as the country’s tenth vice president from  2008 t0 2013 said that it was about time he went for the top seat and would be willing to work with anyone including the deputy President William Ruto however, not as a running mate.

This would be a major blow to the former Prime Minister should he decide to vie for the Nasa coalition which he is a co-principal alongside Kalonzo for he would lose one of the parties that formed the coalition garnering him a lot of support in the recently concluded 2017 general elections.

Kalonzo recently was appointed as the head of the Joint Monitoring and Evaluation Commission (JMEC) on peace in South Sudan by President Uhuru Kenyatta as a result of the handshake between him and Raila Odinga.

Asked whether this new-found relationship would deter him from running in the 2022 elections, he said,” even if the President requests, I will ask how many times will I support my brother Raila?… it is not possible.”

He also denied claims that he was being used by the DP to push his political agenda for 2022  and insisted that he works for President Uhuru Kenyatta.

He also dismissed rumours that it was about time another person took up the mantle of King of Ukambani politics insisting that those were rumours pushed by his enemies seemingly referring to Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua.
