Wambui Collymore, wife to the Late Safaricom Ceo, Bob Collymore on Sunday renewed memories of her husband.
Taking to his twitter page, Wambui commemorated the dream that the CEO had for the Mpesa Foundation Academy.
She remembered how Bob together with the acting Safaricom CEO Michael Joseph envisioned the best school in Africa.
In 2009, my visionary husband @bobcollymore came home and announced that he and @michaelj2 would build the best school in Africa. I thought he was talking about a five-year goal. Alittle over six months later @SafaricomFDN broke ground for what would be the @MPESAFdnAcademy

She went ahead to celebrate the results of the first KCSE Examinations to be held at the institution.
Today, I celebrate this cohort. Congratulations to the @MPESAFdnAcademy Class of 2019. I am proud of you and I know too that @bobcollymore is smiling if not laughing heartily at this dream bearing its first fruit. pic.twitter.com/GFT70o3UuK

The Mpesa Foundation Academy registered a total of 91 Candidates in the 2019 KCSE.
The school’s top student, Abigael Kadogo, scored an A and was number 15 in the national rank.
The Safaricom owned institution is an Education and residential High school offering the Kenyan National Curriculum.
Collymore’s impact in the institution stretched further than his CEO roles.

During his requiem mass at the All Saints Cathedral in July 2019, a student from the institution eulogised him as a father.
Ashley Chepkorir said it is bob who came to her mind when he thought of a father.
After Bob Collymore succumbed to Blood Cancer, Michael Joseph took charge of the Mpesa Foundation and the overall company at an acting capacity.
A few months later, the Safaricom PLC Board of Directors appointed Peter Ndegwa as the new CEO.
Ndegwa, who is a managing director at Diageo PLC, is set to assume office from April 1, 2020.
