Ksh577,620 Assets Stolen in Kiambu Coffee Factory Theft

The management of Gatukuyu Coffee Factory in Mang’u Location, Kiambu, is grappling with the theft of factory assets whose value has been placed at Ksh577,620.

The assets, including a Laptop 17HB, Thermo-print, complete desktop computer, flash disk, Safaricom modem, solar panel, coffee chemicals, and Ksh5,400 were stolen after thugs allegedly broke into the factory on Saturday.

Two factory guards, Harrison Maina and Joseph Mungai, are in custody pending mentioning of the case before the court.

In the nearby Thika West Division, a Nairobi Friends Sacco driver knocked down an unidentified pedestrian, killing him instantly at Jomoko area, in the wee hours of Saturday morning.

The man’s body was moved to the General Kago mortuary awaiting post-mortem and identification. The case is under investigation.

Meanwhile, residents of Gachoka and Mugithuku villages in Gatundu South woke up to the shocking discovery of three dead male bodies on Saturday.

Two of the bodies were found in Gachoka while the third was discovered in Mugithuku. All the bodies had injuries on their necks, and police have launched investigations into the bizarre incident.

In Magomano village, Githunguri, a family woke up to the death of their 25-year-old son, who allegedly died in his sleep.

George Kiagu Njora was found lying face down in his bed with no bodily injuries, and his body was moved to Mokoe mortuary awaiting post-mortem.

It is alleged that the deceased was epileptic.
