Uganda midfielder Khalid Aucho has revealed that he would love to play in the Kenya Premier League again before he hangs his boots. The former Gor Mahia and Tusker FC midfielder is currently playing for Misr Lel Makkasa SC in the Egyptian Premier League.

Alongside Ali Hasaan Abondo and Collins Okoth ‘Gatusso,’ they formed a deadly midfield trio and helped Gor Mahia to the 2015 Kenya Premier League crown unbeaten. The defensive midfielder was in the country with the Uganda Cranes squad for a friendly with Harambee Stars that ended in a 1-1 draw.

“I will consider coming back in the KPL sometime in the future, it is a competitive league and exciting as well. If indeed I get to play in Kenya again, it will be either for K’Ogalo or Tusker, they have a special place in my heart,” Aucho said.

Aucho left Gor Mahia in 2016 and went for trials to Scottish club Aberdeen but the move collapsed after both clubs failed to agree on a transfer fee. He was later signed by South African side Baroka FC where he stayed for only six months.

In February 2017, in the last days of the winter transfer period, Aucho went to Red Star Belgrade following a recommendation by the Uganda national team coach Milutin Sredojević. Red Star immediately sent him to OFK Beograd on loan until the end of the season.

He was on the move again and in September 2018 he joined India club Churchill Brothers and played for them for one year before he made the move to his current club in July this year.
