Riruta Deputy OCS has been shot dead in an early morning confrontation with his colleagues at Kawangware.
It is reported that the officer was shot during a shoot out with fellow officers on patrol, who were responding to distress calls by bodaboda riders.

Benson Indenje, according to police reports, was drunk at the time of the incident.
He was in a heated argument with the operators who reported him to other police officers after he pulled out a pistol threatening to kill one of them.
It is reported that the officer declined orders to surrender and instead started shooting at the officers injuring one of them on the left wrist arm.
The officers returned the fire and in the process, fatally injured the OCS who later succumbed to his injuries upon arrival at Nairobi Women Adams Arcade Hospital.
The incident was reported at Muthangari Police Station at 0330hrs on Thursday morning under OB 5/5/9/19. Here is the whole statement;
