In the eyes of most Kenyans, Ken Okoth will forever remain to be a great man. His humbleness and hard work is something Kibra people will always be grateful for. An amazing Kenyan artist chose to keep Okoth’s memory alive by having a mural for him. Murals are important in that they bring art into the public sphere.
Murals can be a relatively effective tool of social emancipation or achieving a political goal. Not so long ago, several anonymous graffiti artists caused a great hullabaloo on the streets of Nairobi. Their mission, to mobilize Kenyans for change in last yearβs general elections. This has been going on for quite some time now and people are slowly appreciating their artistic work.
Senator Sakaja took to social media to appreciate his friend and the mural.
Thanks Kibra youth for this great artistic tribute to our bro. π pic.twitter.com/M7ISNTDT7e

Below were some reactions.
Such amazing talent shouldn’t go to waste. I hope whoever drew this is/are in gainful employement. If not, they should be hired on the spot or assisted to start their own employment without delay. Such a masterpiece!

When you are a good leader you don’t parade your goodness on social media your people will tell your story.

In Nairobi still there is a glimmer of hope and sanity. Nairobians time and again have elected practically proven morons despite the obvious exposure and knowledge. I hope this flame will continue and even brighten to illuminate the whole city in the sun.
