The Four Cabinet Secretaries accused of plotting to kill the Deputy President William Ruto have come out to defend themselves after being summoned by DCI George Kinoti.
Addressing the media at the DCI offices on Kiambu Road, CSs Peter Munya (Trade), Joseph Mucheru (ICT), and Sicily Kariuki (Health) revealed that they had been summoned following a circulating letter detailing an alleged meeting at Hotel La Mada on Thika Road with the DP as the main agenda.
However Peter Munya has turned the guns against DP Ruto accusing him of intentionally planning to injure their reputation.
CS Munya who spoke on behalf of the other CS stated that the office of the Deputy President could have carried out proper investigation before pressing such charges against them
“I would expect somebody in that office to do proper investigations before making unsubstantiated and wild allegations of that nature,” Munya stated.
He added, “I think it is irresponsible, unfair and intended to portray us in a very bad light so that we look like criminals who meet to plot criminal activities against him. It is also intended to injure our reputation as law abiding citizens.”
