Harambee Stars coach Sebastian Migne has dropped Kenya Premier League top scorer Allan Wanga from the 27-man provisional Harambee Stars squad to camp in France in preparation for 2019 Africa Cup of Nations. Wanga has been dropped alongside AFC Leopards midfielderWyvonne Isuza.
The team will have a 19-day residential training at the French Rugby Federation Marcoussis Cedex before jetting out to Egypt on June 19, 2019, after friendlies with Madagascar and the Democratic Republic of Congo. The decision to drop Allan Wanga, who scored 18 goals in the just concluded Kenya Premier League season has been met with widespread criticism from Kenyans who demand to know the reason behind omitting such a key figure from the squad.
Wanga is one of the few experienced players in the country and his influence would have been vital for the young players in the squad. Below are some reactions from Kenyans on the controversial decision…
The question on everyone’s mind..
How is Masoud Juma going to AFCON and Allan Wanga is not?

No arguments here too..
Allan wanga to harambee stars is what Olivier giroud is to Chelsea, while masoud juma to harambee stars is what Jesse lingard is to Manchester United!

Not one for the Arsenal fans but still makes a lot of sense..
Leaving out Allan Wanga is tragedy.. Just like some fool yesterday decided to start Cech instead of Leno

For sure..
I am SURPRISED by Allan Wanga's snub from the Kenya squad heading to #AFCON2019. Dude deserved a chance and in my opinion, is better than some of the forwards in the squad.

Kenya Premier League Top Scorer Allan Wanga axed from the Harambee Stars Afcon squad. This kind of tomfoolery is above me! We have started losing it before arrive in Cairo.

With Allan Wanga out of the squad, we've already lost the AFCON
