Wazito; a sure promotion back to the top flight Kenyan Premier League

With only four matches left for the National Super League (NSL) to come to a stop, last year’s relegation and demotion victim, Wazito is without a doubt back to the top flight Kenya Premier League and look seriously up to the task and ready to trouble the top flight teams in the season to follow.

The young boys who filled the internet over the weekend after their world-class Germany machine bus was spotted cruising through the streets of the city have opened a very big gap between them and the second positioned Nairobi Stima.

The Ricardo Badoer sponsored boys are sitting at the top of the NSL with seventy-two points opening a four points gap with second positioned Nairobi Stima.

The Wazito Football Club was formed by the University of Nairobi soccer team in 2011 and the alumni members of the soccer team with the aim of allowing the experienced players to mentor the students on career paths and life experience.

To get enough exposure of the National tier, they played a host of friendlies even with the top flight teams and those in the second tier (NSL) until they were promoted into the top-flight league but due to financial constraints, coupled with other factors, they were sunk back to the NSL.

Fortunately, the side has found a new stronger sponsor, Badoer Investments owned by a Swedish national who manages his portfolio from Dubai and by the look of things the boys will bring the deserve competition, but they will need to invest more in more talented players into their squad.

The heavy boys of Nairobi University have won four out of their last five matches that they have played and lost only once against Modern Coast Rangers match that was played on 1st May.

If Wazito is going to maintain their form and bring it into the top-flight league, they are without a doubt going to be a club to reckon with and probably pull a shocker like Sofapaka who were promoted to the top league and straight went for the trophy.

Their last four matches are against Administration Police, who is at position nine with forty-seven points, their nearest and second runners up competitors, Nairobi Stima who have 68 points, seventh positioned Talanta and their last match on 9th June will be against ST. Joseph.

The other teams with a possibility of joining the top league are Nairobi Stima and the tax men of Uhuru.
