Ayub Timbe’s brother the latest inclusion to Harambee Stars AFCON squad

Wazito midfielder Musa Masika, a brother to Ayub Timbe joined Harambee Stars as they held the third training on Thursday, May 23, 2019, at the MISC Kasarani, as preparations for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations hit top gear.

Timbe has been impressive since joining Wazito from Kangemi AllStars in March. He has also featured for Kenya Under 20.

The Thursday’s session saw coach Sébastien Migné take 23 players, most of whom were named in the provisional squad for the upcoming Africa Nations Championships Qualifier against Burundi, through their paces.

Harambee Stars step up AFCON, CHAN preps

Musa Mohammed, Masud Juma, and Cliffton Miheso, meanwhile,  are among foreign-based players who were involved in the session, which is part of preparations for a scheduled three-week camp in France, a precursor to the Africa Cup of Nations, set to be held in Egypt in June.

The AFCON bound team is set to jet out to Paris, France, on May 31, 2019, and has already been booked at the French Rugby Federation, Marcoussis Cedex where they will hold a 19-day residential camp before flying out to Cairo Egypt, on June 19, 2019, in time for the continental showpiece.

Football Kenya Federation has also lined up two friendly matches, against Madagascar on June 7, in Paris and the Democratic Republic of Congo a week later, on June 15, 2019, in Madrid, Spain.
