In a shocking happenstance, two men were arraigned at a Nairobi court Monday after they were found to have stolen bibles worth Sh920,000.
The two: Reuben Rogoi Maina and John Mapesa Andulu appeared before Milimani Law Courts Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi where they denied the charges pressed against them.
The two are said to have presented a fake cheque of Ksh.920,000 to a Nairobi-based Bible translating organization as payment for the 800 pieces of the Holy book.
These were 300 pieces of New King James Version, 200 Good News Bibles and 300 pieces of New International Version Bibles.
The two were released on a Sh200,000 cash bail after they denied defrauding the publisher of the money.
