Three top ranking bank in Kenya have been nominated for highly coveted categories for the 2019 African Banker Awards.
Among them; Family Bank, Equity Bank and KCB Bank.
Family Bank Limited has been nominated for the innovation in banking category.
This is due to its Family Bank Remit system, an innovative money remittance solution, through PesaPap mobile application, that allows for convenient, instant, and reliable money transfer from Kenya to the rest of the world.
Equity Group Kenya was on the other hand nominated for the African Bank of the Year and Social Responsible Bank of the Year.
This is as Equity CEO Dr James Mwangi walked home with the Banker of the Year award, as a result of his leadership and vision in driving the growth of Equity Bank and providing leadership in the banking industry in Africa.
Similarly, KCB- Kenya was nominated for the Best Retail Bank in Africa, Social Responsible Bank of the Year and Innovation in Banking categories.
KCB last year scooped the Best Retail Bank for the East African Banker awards.
