Homa Bay Governor Cyprian Awiti has failed to attend the Senate committee to answer questions on misappropriation of funds.
The governor instead wrote to inform the Senate Public Accounts and Investments Committee that he is seeking treatment out of the country and requested a new date for consideration of the 2017/2018 Adverse report by the Auditor General.

Homabay senator Moses Kajwang said that they will allocate the governor attentive date to ensure that he will answer to all intended questions.
“While we sympathize with the Governor over his health, he must remain accountable to the people of Homa Bay and We shall, therefore, summon the Governor within the next 30 days, failure to which the law shall take its course,” the senator said
Already the committee has surrounded Kiambu governor Waititu, Mike Sonko, and Okoth Obando.
Sonko has already accused the Senate of witch hunting while also pointing the finger to the auditor general.
