Deputy President William Ruto is a man out to do all that it takes to win the hearts of Kenyans as the race for the 2022 Presidential Elections hits up.
The DP has been on the road week in week out as he drums up support for his Presidential bid.
He has made good use of the Churches to sell his agenda and is time and again seen in different churches across the Country.
The DP has also not closed the door to his home to the men in cloth as he constantly welcomes them for Prayers and Thanksgiving in his home.
Today was the turn of the African Divine Church who were in Ruto’s Karen home to launch their Sacco.
During the launch, Ruto said that Cooperative societies and saccos are tools of resource mobilisation that empower individuals, groupings and institutions to contribute meaningfully to national development.
He added that they ingrain a culture of saving and financial prudence by enabling members to invest in long term projects and tap into ventures that attract a good return on investment, including those of the Big Four.
Apart from the Sacco launch, Ruto also engaged in prayers, praises and dance with members of the Church as shown in the video below.
African Divine Church’s visit to Ruto’s Karen home comes at a time when the DP has maintained that no amount of criticism would prevent him from making financial contributions to churches.
Ruto has insisted that his donations to churches was his way of thanking God for lifting him up from humble beginnings.
“If it were not for God, do you think a person like me who used to hawk chicken would have become the Deputy President of Kenya?” he asked when he addressed the congregation at Komothai Catholic Parish in Githunguri, Kiambu.
