Bobi Wine appoints ex NTV anchor as the spokesperson of ‘People’s Power’

Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine young Uganda opposition leader and musician has appointed former NTV news anchor Joel Ssenyonyi spokesperson of people power political group led by Wine.

The move comes as a shock to many considering that until recently, Ssenyonyi was he was a passionate news anchor at the largest and most influential television Network in Uganda.

Ssenyonyi was on Tuesday unveiled at a press Conference in Kampala addressed by Bobi Wine and other Peoples power members.

The journalist who previously worked with Uganda Broadcasting Television(UBC) tendered his resignation to the management almost a fortnight ago and was finally granted a graceful exit.

Eloquent as usual, Ssenyonyi told journalists how he narrowly survived being named ‘Yoweri’.

Last week, Ssenyonyi who had been Serena based station for five years ago signed out by thanking all for being supportive in his journey.

“Today was my last day to anchor news at NTV. My journey with NTV begun 5yrs ago, and it has been nothing but worthwhile. I’ve grown, gotten better, made friends (and enemies too😂) in the course of my work. I’ll forever be grateful to my colleagues at NTV, they’ve been my other family & I’ll always cheer them on. The 13 yrs I’ve spent in the media from my days at UBC-TV back in 2006 have been memorable. Thank you all for being supportive in this journey,” the 32 year old posted on his Facebook page.

Ssenyonyi was an active participant in Bobi Wine’s protest against social media tax
