The inspections are to ensure that safety measures are taken by workers. With the accreditation, workers at a construction site will be required wear the protective equipment. The announcement has come when Nairobi hardly sees a month without major demolitions taking place

Several of the demolitions are reportedly done due to construction workers not practising all the set standards.

One recent case is the South End mall along Lang’ata road that was allegedly constructed on a riparian land.

Th move to license construction workers will be help to restore sanity in the construction industry which has been of late at the centre of criticism.

The agency, National construction authority is tasked with lregulating and controlling construction in Kenya.
