No Kalenjin in New Ambassador Appointments

The new list of ambassadors and high commissioners has badly exposed the government of President Uhuru Kenyatta and William Ruto.

For starters, Kenyans were surprised by Uhuru’s decision to appoint EACC Deputy CEO Michael Mubea as the Kenyan ambassador to Ireland. Mubea is one of the most corrupt faces at EACC mentioned in the Ruaraka lands scandal and the infamous NYS S1.

Going through the list, you will be surprised that there is no single Kalenjin from the 18 appointments made by the President. We thought this was a Nusu Mkate government. As in Ruto was supposed to get something from it.

Interestingly, 13 ambassadors are from Mt. Kenya region. Is this what we call regional balancing? Raila Odinga has been singing about the handshake and so only one Luo is included.

If there were 18 positions, then the President should have ensured that at least each of the former eight provinces got at least two positions. Rift Valley should have had four because it is large.

Thanks to this list, Miguna had to dig deep and has revealed that out of the 12 out of the 45 Principal Secretaries are also from Mt. Kenya. And they are deployed in all the Powerful Ministries like Interior, Treasury, Transport and Foreign affairs.

Things are not different at the Central Bank of Kenya, where all senior staff are from Mt. Kenya

Is this the Kenya we want?
