Kiambu to demonstrate over poor leadership

Kiambu residents will demonstrate on Monday castigating the poor leadership of governor Ferdinard Waititu.

Waititu has been on series of corruption allegation scandals that are minting locals millions of money.

A section of Thika residents demonstrate against the current Kiambu leadership over what they claim is wanton corruption.

The Kiambu government presented the Senate with a financial statement which showed that Waititu may have allocated budgets for functions unrelated to the county.

Waititu, popularly known as Baba Yao, told the senators that he was unaware of the expenditure and was shocked. He suggested the items had been “sneaked” into the audit report.

According to the county statement, Kiambu allocated Sh973 million for State House Affairs (Co-ordination of State House functions).

On Friday Thika residents demonstrated over poor leadership calling for the arrest of Waititu and his clues.

Speaking with media,the group comprising of boda boda operators said that they will demonstrate on monday morning till their plea is heard.

“We wont allow Waititu to lead us,we are suffering and we cant watch as our money is being stolen,”they stated.

Waititu has vehemently denied the theft of the money accusing Wamatangi and Kabogo behind his woes.

Waititu has come under fire, both online and offline, as Kenyans condemned what they termed as “brazen theft of public resources” in Kiambu County.

Thika Town MP Patrick Wainaina said President Kenyatta, the DCI and the EACC should intervene and save Kiambu.

“DCI, DPP, EACC, Uhuru Kenyatta …. If u don’t act today, Kiambu will lose (Sh)7 million this Friday, another (Sh)7 million on Saturday….etc. A total of 2.2 billion every year, 11 billion by 2022! Got the picture? The season of handcuffs must officially begin! (sic),” he posted on his Facebook page.
