Whistles and ‘punda amechoka’ wails took over the streets of Kiambu as angry residents protested the leadership of their governor Ferdinand Waititu.
The demonstrators lamented that the governor lied about giving the youth in the area Sh 20000 but has not fulfilled deed yet.
They were equally angered by the budget lines that the governor presented before the senator that indicated that Kiambu county took care of expenditures meant for the National government.
The protesters carried a distorted portrait of the governor with one almost likening him to a pig. The irate protesters stated that they had lost faith in the governor who had not brought any development to the area so far.
A protester accused the governor said that the governor was only stealing money and women in the county. They asked him to step down and vowed to remove him if he failed to leave on his own.
“Atuna imani na io serikali yao..devolution was not to be ati ifinyilie watu watu, watu wakose kazi..vijana waanze other vices.. watu wanakufa na cholera hi serikali hatuna imani nayo iende na iende kabisa,” an interviewed demonstrator expressed.

Former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo on Thursday led protesters in the Central Kenya county as they traversed the county agitating for action.
Kabogo and the protesters were marching through the streets over the grabbing of land that belongs to the Kiambu Institute of Science and Technology (KIST).
He threatened to remove those who he accused of grabbing the institution’s land within seven days if the county government does not act.
