Juan Mata reveals how Manchester United stars reacted to Chelsea draw

Manchester United’s awful run of four games without a win continued with Juan Mata revealing that the players were disappointed after their 1-1 draw against Chelsea.

The draw handed United another blow in their Champions League ambitions for next season as it leaves them sixth with 65 points and three points adrift from the top four.

Mata had netted the opener for United on his birthday but soon saw his side pegged back when Marcos Alonso capitalized on a David de Gea error to draw the score level.

In an interview with Sky Sports after the Chelsea draw, Mata revealed the mood of the dressing room.

“We are disappointed. We wanted to win, we needed to win, so we are disappointed. I think we did a good first half, we scored, we had other good chances. It is difficult when you have the top four so close and then you have done an incredible job over the last months to get there. We will try until the end, but obviously, we needed to win today, because Chelsea is fighting with us for the position.

“That’s how we should start every game at home especially. We put the other team in trouble and we did very well in the first half today especially.”
