The ‘Baraka zangu’ hitmaker, Rebecca Soki, has released a new hit song ‘Yu Mwema’ featuring Agie Mugeni. The new hit is at 170 views, hours after it was released.
The song was produced under Mr. Seed’s recording label, Starborn Empire. Seed made a quit from Bahati’s recording label, EMB together with Soki. They seem to have come together once more to work on music just as they were under Bahati.
Soki was the first female signed in artiste at EMB. Soki’s manager revealed the reason as to why she left EMB. He explained; “Rebecca Soki left EMB as there was a misunderstanding between her and the label. She is now working on her own projects and hasn’t been to EMB records for the last four months.
Rebecca felt played when she learnt that her song ‘Baraka Zangu’ was sampled from abroad and that really turned her off because she is very God-fearing and felt that using someone else’s beat is stealing. It was a huge turn off for her and in addition, there was a battle in the label as someone else claimed that the song was originally theirs.”
Seed left after his wife, Nimo Gachuiri was disrespected during the new year Jesus party at Thika. He said that Diana Marua, Bahati’s wife, even called police on Nimo. Nimo later confessed that Bahati had been neglecting Seed such that he could not even pay him.
