John Kiarie populary known as KJ and the current MP Dagoretti South was once a comedian. His comedy and art work revolved around ridicule of the then political leadership mainly top KANU officials.
Hon KJ played JJ Kamotho and the KANU secretary general and President Moi’s sycophant in chief, he also played Hon Kihika Kimani the then Njoro MP the father of Nakuru senator Suzan Kihika. Hon Kamotho was the MP for Kangema and later Moi curved a special constituency (Mathioya) for him after a string of losses to the then Opposition MP the late John Michuki.
In his plays, KJ portrayed JJ Kamotho as a mental slave, a man with no mind of his own and whose interests and desire to be in power superseded those of his constituents.
KJ portrayed JJ as a man of “Ndio Baaba” to anything, even on most of stupid ideas that were meant to punish his people (Central Kenya) KJ made the citizens hate JJ Kamotho and especially his style of sucking up to Moi.
Well, fast forward, 20 years later, JJ Kamotho is long dead and KJ himself has become the JJ of his generation, losing his independence to the team Tanga Tanga. Funny Senator Suzan Kihika is fast following the footsteps of her late dad. She is the “Ndio Baaba” man of Ruto’s camp,obvious with the likes Nyoro, Ichung’wa, Osoro, Onyonka, Wachagua,Sabina Chege, Cate Waruguru, Aisha Jumwa etc.
Well, latest info is that KJ has dumped team Ruto, he cried before mama Beth Mugo and begged the Kenyattas for forgiviness otherwise he will be a one term MP and will be forced to go back to entertaining people with stale jokes.
