Good news for start ups as DP Ruto guarantees government contracts

Deputy President William Ruto, convening a plenary of stakeholders in business, has rolled out new government directives to make it easier for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to operate.

Meeting on Friday with the Kenya Federation of Master Builders at his Karen office in Nairobi, the convention bore strategic plans put to promote SMEs.

It was in the meeting agreed that all SMEs will access affordable credit enabling them to seize business opportunities and acquire 40 percent of government contracts, reserved for the sector.

“We have instituted mechanisms to boost SMEs by creating a conducive climate to operate; thrive; spur development; create wealth and jobs,” Ruto said on his Twitter account.
