Man Caught in the Act Burning Wife’s Clothes after Murder

Domestic violence took its toll after a man in Malava Constituency of Kakamega County ended up stabbing his wife to death but was found by a relative burning her clothes just before escaping.

The incident happened at the suspect’s house in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County where the man is said to have stabbed the wife identified as Khanali Mwonobe on the neck using a kitchen knife.

Neighbours say the couple engaged in a domestic fight that led the man to pick a knife and stab his wife.

They, however, acted promptly in calling the deceased family where Khanali’s sister went to the couple’s house to find the man burning up clothes.

Emily Mwonobe, the sister, said she traveled to Eldoret where she found the husband burning the clothes of her sister before trying to escape.

She also said she found the body of Khanali laying on the bed lifeless.

Police have since launched investigations into the incident whose motive remains unclear.
