Jubilee Party through its secretary Raphael Tuju has ashamed the Deputy President over his claims that he is solely responsible for ODM candidate’s withdrawal from the race after he hosted the delegation at his Karen home yesterday.
The ODM candidate, Mohammed Yusuf said he was throwing his weight behind Jubilee Party candidate Mohammed Kolosh, who had earlier decamped from ODM to Jubilee.
Tuju convened a press conference to set the record straight, where he said that the decision for ODM to withdraw from the race was made in consultation with Jubilee’s top leadership.
Unlike claims made by the DP, this decision was made by President Uhuru and ODM Leader Raila Odinga.
”We would also like to put it on record that this withdrawal by ODM follows high level consultation with the leadership of the two parties.It may be recalled that similar high level consultations informed decision by Jubilee not to field candidates in Migori,Ugenya and Embakasi South,” said Raphael Tuju.
Jubilee Party said this was an extension of strengthening the Building Bridges Initiative and that ODM and Jubilee came together to act in the best interest of the country.
”It is an imperative that our collective leadership always act in the best interest of the country and that we all do everything possible in the best interest of the current and future generation,” added Tuju,who is a trusted lieutenant of President Uhuru Kenyatta.
