In the Year 2007, Deputy President William Ruto and Opposition Chief Raila Odinga were very great political friends. Their’s was like a match made in heaven with various political factions across the country shaking at the mention of the duo.
Raila Odinga had built himself a good political base while Ruto was seen as the ultimate Political King from the Kalenjin community.
ODM would then get rigged in the elections by Mwai Kibaki’s PNU in what would later see the formation of a Coalition government with Kibaki as President and Raila as Prime Minister.
After that, Ruto and Raila’s political marriage went to the rocks with Ruto later decamping from ODM to form his Political Party, URP.
The two nolonger see eye to eye politically with Ruto often accusing Raila of being a seasoned liar and Political conman.
Ruto has however not closed the door at Raila Odinga and has hinted that he is ready to work with the former Prime Minister once again.
He has however warned the ODM party leader that he will not hesitate to stop him “when he comes to a party which I am the deputy party leader”.
