Kenya’s number one Female Disk Jockey DJ Pierra Makena’s name is nnot new apart from mixing we all have heard both positive and negative stories about her.
The Deejay has for the first time disclosed that she was broke and depressed when she gave birth to her daughter Ricca.
Speaking in an interview with Parents Magazine, DJ Pierra said that everything was going south for her and she had no money in her account. She narrated that she had also quit her job and her company was not making any money.
DJ Makena also disclosed that at the time, she had parted ways with her baby daddy and she did not want to ask him for money for up-keep.
“I got depressed after giving birth to Ricca. My current bank account was at zero. My company was young and wasn’t bringing in any money. I couldn’t deejay as much plus I had resigned from a well-paying job. I started surviving on my savings. I also didn’t want to call the baby daddy for support. I lost friends but I thank God for my family who supported me,” said Pierra Makena.
The mother of one added that she also lost friends because of the situation she was undergoing.
As things got tough, DJ Pierra could not even afford to pay for her apartment and had to move in with her sister.
