No money! DP Ruto’s son barred from accessing his Ksh 824.8 million

The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission, EACC has obtained orders to freez Deputy President William Ruto’s eldest son bank accounts.

Nick Ruto is barred from transferring, withdrawing or making any transaction with funds amounting to Ksh 824.8 million in different accounts at Kenya Commercial Bank.

EACC in its preliminary investigations established Ksh 671 million was deposited in Nick Ruto’s account at a time the commission was finding out his role in a multibillion-dollar Kimwarer and Arror Dams Scandal.

“An order of prohibition is hereby issued prohibiting the respondent, his agents, servants or any other person from withdrawing, transferring or in any other manner dealing with the four bank accounts listed at KCB pending conclusion of investigations and institution of recovery proceedings.,” the ruling states.

The government has said that the total losses in the Arror and Kimwarer Dams scandal reached as high as Ksh 25 Billion, adding that Deputy President’s allies misused half of the money to pay for fine art and jewellery, and to pay bribes and kickbacks.
